Jessica Fredston-Hermann leads the Exceptional Educators portfolio at Overdeck Family Foundation, which aims to open doors for every child in the U.S. by measurably enhancing education both inside and outside the classroom. Prior to joining Overdeck Family Foundation in 2023, Jessica served for more than a decade in New York City’s Department of Education, including directing one of the city’s largest professional development programs for educators, supporting thousands of teachers in earning salary differentials through engaging, student-centered learning. In earlier roles, she helped implement a new citywide teacher development and evaluation system, designed and implemented accountability structures for charter schools, developed high-quality curricular materials, wrote and evaluated new school applications, and taught middle school. Jessica earned a Master’s in Education Policy and Leadership from Stanford University and a B.A. in Education History/Policy from Brown University, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
