Kelvin Chan, PhD, is presently the executive director of a family foundation. Previously, Kelvin was the Managing Director of Early Childhood at Robin Hood, where he led the Foundation’s ambitious efforts to optimize birth outcomes, maternal health, and early childhood development to fight poverty and strive for developmental justice. The portfolio he built at Robin Hood included the $100 million Child Care Quality and Innovation Initiative, and the Fund for Early Learning (FUEL), which, at $65+ million, remains the largest philanthropic fund in the USA focused exclusively on optimizing early brain development in children three and under. Kelvin is a native New Yorker and a proud alumnus of Head Start, NYC public schools, and Brown, Harvard, Columbia, and Cambridge universities. Kelvin is joyously raising three children, age seven and under, with his wife in Brooklyn.
